Pronunciation Tips

Arabic has some unique sounds. These tips will help you master them step by step.

Throat Sounds

Letters like ح (Deep Ha), خ (Kha), ع (Ayn) and غ (Ghayn) come from deep in the throat. Listen repeatedly and mimic the sound slowly.

Emphatic Letters

The letters ص, ض, ط, ظ are 'emphatic' — pronounced with the tongue retracted. They sound heavier than their plain equivalents.

Non-Connecting Letters

6 letters (أ د ذ ر ز و) never connect to the following letter. They only connect to the letter before them.

Practice Method

Practice writing 4–5 letters daily. Look at each letter, attempt the sound, then repeat. Writing reinforces memory.
